Falun Gong, the Chinese spiritual movement that is being persecuted and suppressed by the People's Republic of China (see the US State Dept. Human Rights Report), is maintaining a distrbuted network of followers using modern technology, according to this article (Sect Clings to the Web in the Face of Beijing's Ban) in the New York Times (registration required).
