Date: Thursday, September 06 @ 22:02:26 EDT Topic: Copyright
Even the mainstream media, aka the New York Times (reg. req.), can't ignore the tough new anticopying aspects of Microsoft's latest: Windows XP (This Bootleg Copy Will Self-Destruct in 30 Days). ZDNet News has a nice commentary condemning the thing (Microsoft's copy-protection racket). Don't like it? Tough - if you're buying a new PC soon, according to a review of Windows XP by Microsoft subsidiary MSNBC (Windows XP: Worth the wait) - "For anyone buying a new computer once the OS is released Oct. 25, your decision will be made for you. Windows XP will come installed as standard equipment on the majority of computers."
