The American Library Association has posted online all of the briefs for the upcoming Supreme Court case on the Children's Internet Protection Act (CIPA). The CIPA case questions whether the federal government can "withhold funds on the ground that a public library has failed to install mandatory filters on every computer." The ALA naturally said no, on First Amendment grounds; it prevailed in the lower courts, and the government appealed to the Supreme Court. Oral argument is scheduled for March 5.
