TIA restrictions advance

In January, the Senate voted unanimously to restrict (partially) the Pentagon's ability to use the Total Information Awareness project on American citizens. That restriction took another step forward today when House and Senate negotiators agreed to include the Senate's version of the restriction in the spending bill currently working its way through Congress.
