Governance
BenEdelman writes "Long-time LawMeme readers may remember prior coverage of an FTC case challenging domain registrations by John Zuccarini. Most of Zuccarini's registrations are typographic variations on well-known names; Zuccarini makes it difficult to exit his sites due to pop-up ads and other features that obstruct the ordinary functioning of the Back and Close commands; Zuccarini's domains provide sexually-explicit content. For all these reasons, in May 2002 the US federal court in the Eastern District of Pennsylvania issued a permanent injunction barring Zuccarini from these behaviors. Nonetheless, in recent research, I have documented that Zuccarini's 5000+ registrations remain operational -- still providing sexually-explicit content, still discourating exit, and still reflecting small variations on the strings of other domain names.

My Large-Scale Registration of Domains with Typographical Errors documents the specific names registered by Zuccarini, as well as key details about each. I have also developed a system to let interested Internet users describe the connections between Zuccarini's "typosquatting" domains and the well-known domain names from which many of his domains are derived. I hope LawMeme readers will contribute to this system, and with the benefit of your submissions I intend to send notification about Zuccarini's activities to the registrants of the domains targeted by his registrations. Why would you want to help him market his domain names? It would seem that you would only be helping him in his goal, which I am sure is only to make money, by letting the big name company know of a potential domain name to buy.
Or could it be that you find something wrong with buying domain names that are typographical errors of a big name site.
In the abstract portion of your site you should flesh out where you are coming from, and what you hope to change by becoming involved in this case. If you are just reporting on it, you seem to have gone too far.
