(continued...)
Singapore's long-rumored upcoming hardline policies are becoming solidified, starting with this national website, created by an alphabet soup of ISPs, consumer groups, and marketing organizations as part of an education campaign about existing and new spam policies.
The Infocomm Development Authority of Singapore (IDA) has announced that new policies are in the works, including legal and other changes. New laws should go into effect next year after comments in upcoming months.
The laws give users the right to opt out of advertisements. As provided in the American CAN-SPAM also, ISPs would have the right to sue for damages from unauthorized spamming.
