eptitude writes "I'm sure no one has thought of this before, but Test Central, Inc., a Cleveland-based company announced that it has just been issued patent no. 6,513,042 for "A method of making a tests, assessments, surveys and lesson plans with images and sound files and posting them on-line for potential users." Yet another indication that the USPTO never met an application it didn't approve. Seriously: do they ever reject patent apps?"

Research into the economic effects of allowing business-method patents would be interesting as well.
The USPTO's lax research into prior art before granting a patent has to be having a negative economic impact. It would be interesting to see if that negative impact were greater than the budget allocation of the USPTO. |
