WSJ to Privacy Advocates: ''Don't Worry''
Posted by Steven Wu on Sunday, November 24 @ 23:24:32 EST Civil Liberties
The Wall Street Journal has an editorial up saying that civil liberarians shouldn't be so worried about the government's recently enhanced powers to conduct surveillance of its own citizens (Secret Court Approves Gov't Wiretap Powers, Hidden Gotchas in Homeland Security Act). Basically, the WSJ argues that these changes don't give the government any more power to invade privacy, and that all that these measures do is allow different branches of the government to exchange information--something that 9/11 should have taught us is essential.

The editorial can be found here.
