ZDNet News carries a Wall Street Journal piece on the DOJ's Antitrust Division's look at the music industries' anti-competitive licensing practices (DOJ expands online music probe). The subpoenas are flying, encompassing MusicNet, pressplay and the RIAA. The LA Times also has this story (Antitrust Probe of Music Firms Intensifies).

MS and USDOJ Fail in Settlement Talks:
ZDNet News finally reports that the appointed mediator for the Microsoft antitrust case is Eric Green (Judge appoints Microsoft mediator). Eric Green, a law professor from Boston University, specializes in commercial mediation. The Register reports as well (MS-Gov talks fail, mediator appointed).
