Digital Download Day is the brainchild of OD2, On Demand Distribution, a European digital distributor of music, co-founded by Peter Gabriel. For a week, European users will be able to download free music from subscription services, in a marketing strategy that evidently hopes to attract P2P folks. Reuters reports: "the music industry is borrowing a trick from its nemeses: free music downloads."
