Seth F. Hunts Down the Details on Google's Exclusions
Posted by Ernest Miller on Friday, October 25 @ 12:22:57 EDT Free Expression
Seth Finkelstein continues to do an excellent job ferreting out many of the technical details on Google's removal of certain websites from their search results in countries such as France and Germany (Google country bans affect image and directory searching too). His Infothought Blog also reveals alternative search strategies to find even more "disappeared" sites (Search strategy for "Localized Google search result exclusions"). For more, see Infothought. See also, Ben Edelman's original posting on his superlative study (Localized Google search result exclusions: statement of issues and call for data).
