Posted by Ernest Miller on Monday, October 14 @ 08:46:18 EDT Media Regulation
As previously reported on LawMeme (FCC Seeks Comments on Proposal to Mandate DRM), the FCC is seeking comments on whether they should mandate use of Digital Rights Management for broadcast digital television. The FCC has now extended the deadline for comments from October 30th to December 6th. Read the original notice (In the Matter of Digital Broadcast Copy Protection [PDF]). Read the extension (In the Matter of Digital Broadcast Copy Protection [PDF]). Now you don't have an excuse to file some comments. The extension comes courtesy a request by Public Knowledge, the Center for Democracy and Technology, and Consumers Union. [via Consensus at Lawyerpoint]
