Steve Case intends to step down, in May, from his position as AOL Chairman. CNN reports here.
Case has been with AOL essentially from the beginning (I vaguely remember seeing his name when I installed AOL on my Commodore 64 in the mid 80s). Check out his brief online autobiography.
Presumably, a Time Warner exec will replace Case as head of the merged entity, which makes the resignation somewhat symbolic: traditional rather than "new" media will once again be dominant in at least this slice of the corporate world.
