Anonymous (Name Withheld on Advice of Counsel) writes " Last Thursday, a coalition of artists and labels started running print, radio, and TV ads featuring dozens of Major Recording Stars who compare file swaping with stealing. The Ads, featuring big-name artists such as Madonna, P. Diddy, and Sting, are designed to shame people out of illegally swapping music.

Favorite Quote in Article "...it is unclear whether testimony from Multimillionaire recording artists will garner much sympathy among fans, many of whom complain that CDs are overpriced or contain just one or two quality songs."

Dumb idea these ads are.

The music industry should just stop bitching about fiel sharing and do somethign logical about it.

People complain that each CD is overprced and only contains one or two quality songs on it. Well then they should start offering MP3s online with faster downloads than P2P and higher quality and have a great selection, for a price; and lower the price of CDs.

But instead of logic they want to air these ads and hack into P2P nodes.
