Posted by Ernest Miller on Tuesday, July 10 @ 21:44:55 EDT Governance
The Markle Foundation has released a report (Toward a Framework for Accountability) [PDF] that analyzes a comprehensive survey of public attitudes toward the Internet and Internet Policymaking. See the press release. Highlights include the result that 64% of the public supports some government regulation and that 58% oppose industry self-regulation alone. The New York Times (registration required) covers the reports release (Survey About Accountability Online). Washtech.com coverage is here (Survey Shows Support for Internet Rules).
