Today's Los Angeles Times has a story entitled "Media Copyright Law Put to Unexpected Uses" about companies using the Digital Millenium Copyright Act (DMCA) to shut down satirical web sites, enjoin the advance posting of store prices, and shut down competing printer-supply firms.
This is not news: Lawmeme has already covered the Dow Chemical suit, the Fatwallet.com suit, and the Lexmark suit, respectively. But for those unfamiliar with the DMCA, the article provides a good overview of its unintended (and undesirable) consequences.
