The Healthcare industry is less than thrilled with the cost of implementing HIPAA regulations to protect your privacy. Some tech companies, however, are taking advantage of these government mandated technical security and privacy requirements. Standing to benefit from implementation activities, tech companies can position themselves to protect both your privacy and their stock prices. USA Today discusses the positive effect HIPAA is having on some companies. "It's no Y2K," writes Michelle Kessler, but it's a "mini-boom for a slice of the tech industry."

Re: HIPAA is Helping the Economy (Score: 0) by Anonymous on Wednesday, June 18 @ 15:01:49 EDT | HIPAA is not "helping the economy." It is helping the tech industry, which is an entirely different matter. To say that HIPAA is "helping the economy" is to commit the broken window fallacy [www.econlib.org]. |
