Clonaid Baby
Posted by Paul Szynol on Wednesday, January 01 @ 03:21:48 EST News
In the first LawMeme entry of the year (a truly momentous event, of course) --

a FL lawyer skeptical about Clonaid's motivations is concerned about the well-being of the Clonaid baby. Acting as a concerned citizen, he has filed a petition with the Broward County Circuit Court to prod Broward County to appoint a legal guardian for the newborn.

Few people know where the baby is, and, what is more relevant to this story, no one, as of now, knows if the baby is a clone, or rather the unfortunate poster child for Clonaid's cloning/religious propaganda. It is not clear whether the petition seeks the appointment of a state sponsored guardian only on the assumption that the baby is, in fact, the world's first human clone.

CNN's coverage is here.

Poster child? We haven't see the poster yet! In one article, Rael said she would be kept away from society until she was 18. So, as far as I'm concerned we don't even know that there is a baby.
