California Ruling Against Red Light Cameras
Posted by Ernest Miller on Thursday, September 06 @ 22:23:28 EDT Privacy
USA Today, which has been following the story of law enforcement cameras extensively, reports that a California judge has thrown out about 300 tickets finding that the cameras are unreliable (Calif. judge says 'stop' to red light cameras). However, not everyone (e.g., Yale Law Professor and ISP Fellow Ian Ayres) agrees that private monitoring is a bad thing, at least according to an editorial in the New York Times (reg. req.) (Connecticut's Speeder-Friendly Crackdown).
