American News Websites Now Available - in China

WIRED reports that China is now permitting Internet users to previously blocked sites, such as the Washington Post, LA Times and Boston Globe (China Quietly Unblocks U.S. Sites). Other sites, such as CNN, remain blocked. On the other hand, c|net news reports that damage to undersea cables has significantly slowed China's access to US websites (Damaged cables slow Net access in Asia).
