Creative Commons Opening Today
Posted by Steven Wu on Monday, December 16 @ 14:03:49 EST Copyright
Wired reports that Creative Commons is about to open its virtual doors today. Creative Commons' first project is the Licensing Project, which will allow content creators to attach customized licenses to their work that fall within the "All rights reserved" and "No rights reserved" continuum. Now content creators can retain some copyright to their work while still allowing it to be distributed the way that they want.

Also of interest is the Founders' Copyright project, which asks copyright holders to voluntarily give up their copyright after 14 years--the time limit established by the Framers of the Constitution.
