Michelin to put chips in tires
Posted by James Grimmelmann on Tuesday, January 21 @ 16:50:08 EST Consumers
Michelin is about to put computer chips in its tires. The chips will have built-in antennae and will transmit information about the tire's status (e.g. tire pressure) to an onboard computer in the car. My prediction is that we'll see DMCA-protected tires soon as car makers pal up with tire makers for nice exclusive deals. Full story here.

DMCA-protected tires are nothing compared to vehicle-tracking sensors in the road, i.e. Total Information Awareness.
