Virtual War Protests
Posted by Steven Wu on Thursday, February 27 @ 10:30:06 EST News
In a follow-up to the world-wide protests earlier this month, anti-war protesters swamped Washington, D.C., with email, fax, and telephone messages in a "virtual march" against a war in Iraq. The Win Without War Coalition, via their online headquarters, sponsored the protest.

Though the effect of the protest on the administration's policies is unclear, the electronic march did have a substantial effect on D.C. switchboards. The organizers of the march claim that hundreds of thousands of protesters participated in the virtual demonstration.

The New York Times reports here.
