Tracks in Cyberspace
Posted by Ernest Miller on Thursday, September 06 @ 18:38:50 EDT Privacy
Our favorite daily rag, the New York Times (reg. req.), finishes its three part series on "Tracks in Cyberspace" with an article looking at the cautious moves towards government privacy regulations on the Internet (Government Is Wary of Tackling Online Privacy). You can also read parts one (Giving the Web a Memory Cost Its Users Privacy) and two (As Big PC Brother Watches, Users Encounter Frustration). We would be remiss not to link to the main source for today's articles, the Electronic Privacy Information Center (EPIC) and the FTC and its Privacy Initiatives.
UPDATED

Wired is carrying a story (by Declan McCullagh) about a new study (Consumer Privacy: A Free Choice Approach) by the Pacific Research Institute arguing against government privacy regulation of the Internet (Study: Who Needs Privacy Laws?).
