The Library of Alexandria, in Egypt, the most famous ancient library in the world, is getting in the business of gathering massive digital archives. It started by duplicating San Francisco's Internet Archives, and it is also storing video and movies from the US and Egypt. These collections amount to more than 100 Terabytes (100,000,000,000,000 characters) of information, and they are one more source of the "digital history" of the world.
It is worth checking out the article recently published by the Mercury News. The library archives are here.
