FCC Spectrum Workshops Start August 1
Posted by Robert Heverly on Tuesday, July 30 @ 11:21:24 EDT Telecommunications
The first of four public workshops on spectrum policy sponsored by the FCC's Spectrum Policy Task Force takes place Thursday, August 1. All four of the workshops will be made available live online. Thursday's program covers "Experimental Licenses and Unlicensed Spectrum." It starts at 9:00am and ends at 3:00pm (EST). It features some great panelists, including Larry Lessig.

Friday, August 2, is the second program, focusing on "Interference Protection." Panelists for the second program are listed near the end of the same PDF document that listed those panelists participating in program one. To watch the workshops online, simply go to the FCC Audio/Video Events Home Page as or after the program starts and the link for audio/video will be "live." Programs are streamed in RealAudio format.

Programs three and four, covering "Spectrum Efficiency" and "Spectrum Rights and Responsibilities," respectively, will take place on August 5 and August 9. No panelists have been accounced on the FCC Web site for the August 5 and August 9 programs.
