Congress Loves Blackberry
Posted by Steven Wu on Thursday, March 06 @ 18:26:51 EST Oddities
The New York Times reports that Congress is so in love with its Blackberry wireless email devices that it has now taken the unusual step of intervening in the patent infringement lawsuit that threatens Blackberry's existence.

After September 11, Congress spent $6 million to buy 3,000 Blackberry handhelds. However, its new gadget frenzy has miffed American handheld manufacturers who wonder why Congress is throwing its weight behind a Canadian firm. The simple answer seems to be that Blackberries just work a lot better than their nearest competitors.

First the TiVo is God's machine, now this. What kind of effects, if any, will this growing love of technology have?
